LEE LEGACY

Work done for a Uni group project, where we were tasked to create a visual development document, based off the real life story of Kim Lee, A Chinese immigrant who was quarantined on Mokopuna island of the coast of Wellington.

this was our Story inspired by his Story;

ACT 1:
Rachel Lee is an aspiring archaeologist, whose grandfather has just died and has left her all his belongings, which includes a special journal, dating back to the time he was on Somes island. What catches Rachel’s interest is the notes rumouring about the presence of Magic on the island, and a magical artifact that holds enormous power. Her grandfather also notes he discovered evidence that it was his grandfather Kim Lee who first discovered the Magic/Artifact, during his stay on the Island. Rachel decides to travel to the island to find it.

ACT 2:
She arrives on the island and is met by Larry who is not happy with her presence, giving Rachel an uneasy feeling bout him. She starts her journey in Kims Cave, where she meets Tip for the first time. Tip helps her search for the artifact and tells her about Kim, his old friend. They end up in the old Lighthouse where Kim’s friend the Lighthouse Keeper lived and finds old maps marking an underwater cave under Kim’s own Island. They swim down (with help of tips magic) and find the Artifact.

ACT 3:
The artifact has the power to open the door to another realm, where all the magical creatures are from, including Tip. Rachel returns the artifact with Tip back to where it belongs and that this was what Kim had been trying to do before he died. Just before Rachel can follow through, Larry finds them and tries taking the artifact for himself, small battle ensues, ending with Larry being defeated. Rachel bids Tip farewell, Tip gives Rachel one final parting gift, and Rachel leaves the Island.
